The South Central Iowa Breast Cancer Fund provides up to $500 in annual financial assistance and $50 gas cards to assist in transportation barriers to get to and from cancer-related treatment appointments for adult breast cancer patients who are currently undergoing medical oncology treatment and reside in one of the following south central Iowa counties:
- Ringgold County
- Decatur County
- Union County
- Taylor County
APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The South Central Iowa Breast Cancer Fund provides up to $500 of financial assistance annually to adult breast cancer patients undergoing medical oncology treatment. Assistance helps cover expenses including: rent, mortgage, utilities, telephone, or transportation.
Patients seeking financial assistance for supportive services and resources may complete the online application or request a printable copy of the application and submit it via mail, email, or fax. The Mission Cancer Foundation will review the application on a rolling deadline to approve or decline your submission. Once a determination has been made, you will be notified via email.

STEP 1:
Patient qualification relies on the following eligibility criteria:
- You must reside in one of the three counties: Ringgold, Decatur, Taylor, or Union County
- Meet annual household income requirements, 300% FPL
- Must have read and accepted the Grant Restrictions (located on the Patient Assistance Application)
- Must be undergoing active medical oncology treatment for breast cancer
STEP 2:
Gather information needed for the application:
- Patient Information
- Financial Verification (Income Tax Return & most recent pay stub, or Social Security Award Letter if taxes not filed. If your current tax documents do not reflect your current income, please send proof of the current income, income tax return, and letter of explanation of the change.)
- Expense Verification (copies of bills needing payment assistance)
- Health Statement signed by a member of your medical care team.

The fund is proud to be able to assist breast cancer patients in south central offer offset transportation barriers by offering $50 gas cards or ride share cards to ensure access to lifesaving cancer treatments.

Qualifications

- You must be receiving active medical oncology treatment in or reside in the following South Central Iowa counties: Ringgold, Decatur, Union, Taylor
- Active oncology breast cancer patient
Generously funded Breast Cancer Awareness – First Christian Church of Mt. Ayr
Funding was generously provided by Breast Cancer Awareness – First Christian Church of Mt. Ayr, through the church’s Women’s Group Annual Afternoon Tea Style Show for breast cancer awareness. Thanks to their efforts, all proceeds support individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment who are facing financial hardship.
